Education
Mayor Domenic Sarno, as Chairman of the Springfield School Committee, has led the effort to dramatically improve education for our
children. Under his leadership:
- Graduation rate has improved from barely 50% to the current 84.6%.
- Dropout rate has improved-Down from 14% to the current 3.9%
- $750 million in new and renovated school projects have been completed- #1 in the entire State.
- Springfield is the first community in Massachusetts to have free universal, full day Pre-K for our children.
